About

Mission Statement:

Securing thriving lives for pets and peace of mind for their families, one loving home at a time.

About Us / Goals

Cranford Care A Lot, Inc gives abandoned pets a loving home and a second chance at life. In today’s challenging economy, families are struggling, and sadly, pets are often the ones who suffer the most. The reality is that the current economy has led to a heartbreaking surge in abandoned and displaced animals, overwhelming local shelters and leaving these vulnerable creatures without the care that they desperately need. We are dedicated to providing a safe haven or resources for these forgotten companions. We offer a nurturing environment where pets receive the physical, medical, and emotional support they need to thrive, improving their quality of life and offering much-needed relief to overcrowded organizations. We work closely with partners like Cat Tails, Inc., Paws on Death Row, Inc, Design Hub, various shelters, and local vets who generously offer their support in service of our mission.

2024 Animal Shelter Statistics*
  • 5.8 million dogs and cats entered shelters and rescues in 2024, with populations evenly split.
  • The length of time pets remain in shelters before being adopted has increased in the past 5 years which contributes to the ongoing capacity crisis, limiting space for new animals.
  • 4.2 million pets were adopted in 2024, approximately the same as the year before.  Although the number of pets keeps increasing the number of adoptions has not kept up with the pace.
  • Approximately 607,000 animals were euthanized in shelters in 2024, which is an 8% euthanization rate.  We would love for it to be ZERO.
